Thus I set out to watch Captain Tylor and boy was I not disappointed. From just the first episode it kept me sucked in. This is first and foremost a comedy Anime, but at times it got emotional. Each and every character in this amazing Anime had a distinct yet familiar personality. They will stick with you long after you even finish watching the Anime.
The story is set up in a way that seems typical from Anime of this era. Alien race wants to fight humans so people fight in space but that's where the cliche ends. Taylor as a character is the highlight of the entire show and his role is the most important.
This anime is so good because the characters were at first set in stone in terms of what they were like on a personal level but Tylor's personality influenced each and every person around him. His easygoingness shaped the very foundation of these influences and connections to other characters.
Tylor is your typical 20 something guy who didn't know what to do in life so he joined the military maybe to get some excitement and that's where it goes from there. I do not want to spoil anything you just have to experience this masterpiece for yourself. You WILL be laughing every episode. Each and every episode is so well executed and balanced with both life lessons and comedy.
A MUST WATCH Anime from the 1990s for sure.
