"You need to decide where you belong before anything else. If you can do that, you can decide what you want to do." - Jin Mitaka

This is the quote of quotes. The message this incredible story portrays and gives to you in the best way possible. Let's jump into the review for my favorite anime series of all time - Pet Girl of Sakurasou (Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo)

The story is very good. Happiness, sadness, relatable drama that makes you want to help the characters. You understand there struggle as they fail, as they are plagued with jealousy, etc. Comedy, Melodrama and Romance work well together in this particular story. There are a few over the top moments and fan-service but they make you laugh. As for pacing, the first couple episodes are kind of slow but once you are in, you're tied down for sure.

The setting is very impressive. A small dorm with high school students looking to make there dreams come true. You grow with this building, it isnt just a landmark. History is made here with our colourful bunch of characters over the course of this 24 episode adventure. When entering this genre of anime, viewers generally expected the expected, cliche characters. But everyone has there own traits, goals, and most importantly, everyone has a well developed personality. You see progression, failure and raw emotion that you can't help crying over at times.

Art and music are very important and something I really need to be outstanding in a series, especially slice of life. Flawless. From the opening's and ending's to the background tracks and the crisp, colorful, bubbly animation provided by J.C.Staff (Zero no Tsukaima, Toradora!, Hachimitsu to Clover) My ears and eyes were emerged every single episode and beyond.

When I first viewed this back in 2012, I wasn't expecting much. A typical slice of life / romantic comedy that would get me feeling tingly inside at the most. Sakurasou was a very pleasant surprise. A unique series that truly sets the bar. The series has a great cast of characters, an amazing and memorable soundtrack with a story written and paced just as good.

I would love if they did a second season, however the light novels after Episode 24 wander off the deep end and aren't nearly as impressive so maybe this is good enough! I suggest buying this on bluray if you are willing to spend the money. View this lighthearted, hilariously romantic series in the best way possible. I have been inspired by the characters and everything this anime has shown me.

Sakurasou is an adventure and I cannot stress that enough!
