Dont deny it. I know you picked up this anime when you were like twelve or thirteen and immediately fell in love with either sebastian, claude, grell, or alois (no one ever falls for ciel and he's literally the protagonist of all three seasons, give my man his credit) You're nodding your head aren't you. Fast forward to the future, and you see that Book of Circus has been released, and it's "Oh for old times' sakes, but I'm not really into this sort of thing anymore."
Okay this might not apply to you, but this applied to me. This is exactly how it went down for me. I started this anime thinking that I'm going to get in touch with my middle school self, and bam. I am in love with kuroshitsuji again. to be honest, I was a little embarrassed that I actually really liked it, because I have far moved on from my black butler t-shirts and anime fan account on instagram. (I even had a fan art of sebastian and ciel as my lock screen at one point and there were nipple clamps involved.) I would like to think I've grown from that.
But then I realized that this anime is fricking good, and nothing will change that, not even the memories of my cringey twelve year old self.
Let's start off with the characters.
BOMB. kuroshitsuji never fails to create visually pleasing characters. true visuals. Even the creepy ones are aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Not only that, each character is unique. They're all dark because, well, it's kuroshitsuji, what did you expect? But they were all different, quirky, and interesting to watch. You got the OG ciel, sebastian, grell, william, etc. but you also got the new ones like Doll, Snake, etc. Kuroshitsuji characters never fail to disappoint.
two words. OPENING SONG.
I never review the opening songs of anime because it's completely irrelevant, but you are lyiiinng if you say the kuroshitsuji openings are irrelevant. I never skip them, and I'm pretty sure they're downloaded somewhere.
Plot.
GOOd. 10/10 Amazing. Same ol' dark mystery sherlock holmes theme stuff. It's the same theme, but it's different from the other seasons. don't worry. good sht. i don't know what to put here without spoiling it. it's just good okay, take it from me, along with all the kuroshitsuji trash in the reviews section
Guys. I feel like because of kuroshitsuji, i am never going to grow out of my middle school weaboo phase. Because I'm actually waiting for a new release or a new season, but seeing how it took 3-4 years, I'm going to be a functioning adult when it comes out. How the heck am I suppose to be a respected member in society when I'm still thirsting after the same old 5475973 year old demons i was thirsting after in middle school. rip.
this is how good the show is. The fact that it turned me all weaboo again is valid evidence.
