Pandora Hearts follows the story of Oz Vessalius. On his 15th birthday, a group of people the Baskervilles throw him into the Abyss, accusing him of a sin. It follows him into the Abyss where he meets Alice. They together search for her memories and discover the secrets of the Four Great Houses.

The animation and soundtrack was okay but nothing stellar. If you are only basing the anime on this, then you are in the wrong place.

However, if you are watching for the deeper story and characters then you are in the right place!

The character development is good. You learn the origin and history of each character. There aren't many unnecessary characters and they all have some role to play in the story. Even the more minor characters are receiving at least some development. You also understand where all the characters are coming from and the experiences that they've gone through.

I enjoyed Pandora Hearts overall. They were always adding new elements and details to the story. When you think the story is going one way, there is always an element of surprise and many plot twists! The producers always threw in a curve ball.

This anime has a lot of potential but didn't pull through all the way. I first watched the anime and really liked what was going on but it ended abruptly.
With only 25 episodes, you only get a fraction of the overall story. I definitely recommend the manga (which is a definite 10) to anyone who reads it. To anyone who liked the anime, you should definitely continue on to get the full story. The manga will not disappoint!
