The art was very vibrant and beautiful. I loved the scenery and background art shown throughout the movie, and the character designs were really good. I especially love the character design of the main character, Mochizou. Also, there are many scenes throughout the movie that were simply beautiful and gave a really good feel to the movie and the Japanese school setting. One last thing, the animations and overall movements of the characters really made everything, in a way, cuter and more natural. Reactions seemed more natural and some of the weird movements by characters made the film a little humorous as well.
The sound quality was overall pretty good, I wouldn't say the quality was out of this world, but it was pretty decent. Moreover, the background noises were like the typical background noises you would fin in most anime; the bugs chirping to show it's a hot sunny day, and wind and atmospheric noises to give a calm, cool, mood. Moreover, the music choice was really good. Especially at the ending of the film, the music really fit then end of the story.
The character personalities were all very different. My favorite character was Mochizou since his reactions to all the romance and stuff that happened throughout the film is pretty accurate to what a real boy what actually do. In some instances, the reactions of the characters made situations look really cute and sometimes humorous as well. Even though I did not watch the anime series, I really felt like I connected with the characters and was familiar with them by the end of the movie.
The whole movie itself was very enjoyable. There weren't any dark or sad themes in this movie, but more just cute moments throughout the movie showing the romance between two nervous teenagers who were childhood friends. The theme was just overall enjoyable and positive
Overall, this movie was really good! It's like your classic cute romance story between two teenagers, but in a way that's not boring or clique. It might sound corny, but the movie really holds a place in my heart. The overall story, the characters, and beautiful scenes really attached to me and I almost felt sad when it ended. The ending was really good and I wished they continued the movie with another series. Watching this movie really makes me want to go back and watch the anime series, even though the series doesn't really focus on the romance between the two teenagers. However, I'm afraid watching the series will make me sad since I miss the characters already. The movie really made me connect with ALL the characters and their community as if I grew up watching them, just like someone who grew up watching Naruto. So seeing the end of the movie really made me realize how special this story really is :)
