"Basically, you look at the person you're conversing with as someone even more pathetic than you."
"If you do so, you'll be able to smoothly carry on a conversation without getting nervous."

These words were all but too real to me. As I started to watch Welcome To The NHK, I noticed just how much I really could relate to the main character Sato and his struggles of being a NEET. You might think that the character is somewhat of a pussy when it comes to romance, but if you put yourself in the main character's shoes, this is the most real feeling romance anime I have ever seen to date. The emotional roller coaster this anime puts you through is honestly quite exhausting. This is emphasized by the beginning of the anime leaning towards comedy but the deeper you go, the more bittersweet moments will appear before you. Even though it is clear from the first few episodes who the main heroine is, there is still a sense of disconnect through Sato and her. You never really know what will come out of their relationship and the slow development of it makes you want it to happen that much more.
