Concepts are interesting - chains, derivations from Alice, the darker image of many of the characters. It's not the first or last anime to use concepts from Alice in Wonderland, so I didn't think that the act of pulling ideas from Alice was so original but the derivations themselves were a good effort to do something new. Best parts of the anime that I saw so far were the art and music portions, unfortunately.
Looking on Wiki it seems like the story might move along faster in the manga, but honestly I'm not even that interested enough to read it.
I thought I would really like this because I love fantasy animes and Alice in Wonderland (the original work) so I was sad to be so disappointed. I think it's possible to like this a lot if you can accept the slow plot pace and you have a lot of time.
