KHR is quite the underrated anime. I have to say it took me a long time to start watching it and I had to start several times because the first episodes are quite boring, but once you pass that it gets really good.

The story is a bit different then usual, we do have the typical Shonen protagonist, week that gets stronger with the training, but the Mafia setting gives a different edge to the story. Specially when you start to understand the Family and what it stands for. That was one of the points that made me keep watching. The bad part was that it took a while to get there.

The art starts as generic but it gets better when you start to enter the action parts of the series. The fighting scenes are good animated. I absolutely love Yamamoto's fights. They were the best for me.

The sound is also one the points that make the anime very good. The openings are very catchy and stay in your head. The background music also ads to each scene and during the fights it's really good.

The characters can be enjoyed as a whole, like the story says its about a Mafia family so they are all very close and you see that bound develop as you watch the show. I love how each of them represent a element or specific characteristic. Tsuna is the sun, Yamamoto the calm, Gokudera the storm and so on. I couldn't stand Tsuna at the beginning, but after his first fight you see that he's a bad ass Mafia Boss when he needs to.

I really liked this show. The only problem was the slow pace in the beginning and sometimes between arcs where they would put fillers or summary episodes. I'm quite sad that they didn't continue with it, because the manga continued for some time more. I'll have to check it to see how it ends.

Overall I would recommend this to any fan of anime or if you want some action with a nice story. Just stay strong for those 20 something episodes in the beginning and after that you are in for a treat.
