This series blew my mind. That first episode is exactly what you do to grab peoples attention. The story is gripping and an utter enjoyment. Some characters are a bit 2 dimensional, but the rest kind of make up for that. Our main character Lucy/Nyu is a very interesting main character to follow. The fact that she has a split personality just makes her all the more lovable as one side is this totally cute, innocent girl who has no idea whats going on and then her other side is bloody thirst, bad ass and knows exactly whats the go. The soundtrack comes off as a huge standout in this series, I'll never get the soundtrack out of my mind. It follows the same sort of tune the opening song, but in different ways of presenting it. Warning, this series is filled with extreme gore, there are no boundaries. Its good that I can handle a lot of gore, but if you hate gore this anime is definitely not for you. Also this anime deals with a lot of dark themes, such as child abuse and child molestation. I'm not going to say who or what, but its does deal with dark things in life such as that. So, I'm giving a trigger warning. Sometimes the constant nudity thrown in my face kind of bugged me a little. I mean I'm fine with seeing it, just not in certain scenes in the show. Overall I give this series a 9.5. Its a solid anime, touching and at times brought tears to my eyes. Highly recommend.
