And so we continue where the first season left off. First of all, I'm a very simple minded person. I see a good show? I like it.
The premise of Tokyo Ghoul is impeccable. It's original. It's thought-provoking. And honestly it just leaves you an emotional wreck struggling to fit back together the pieces this show leaves behind.
There's so much tragedy and I wondered why this was classified as horror but then I realized that it leaves you so horrified of your emotions that you struggle to rein in everything after succumbing to its entangling vignettes of tragedy and despair.
I'm disappointed that I didn't get to see this when it originally came out, thus missing out on the anticipation and discussions, but I'm definitely glad I eventually caved in and saw it. It's really great if you like your shounen with heaps of seinen, and dark, twisted themes.
