Hi! This is Britt, and this is my first review and it may not be the best, but I hopes you like it, anyways! *Ahem*, so I'm going to be reviewing: "Lucky Star" today. Let's get on with it, shall we?

Story: So, short version: The anime doesn't really have a solid plot. Its a slice-of-life, and that genre is usually filled with random stuff that'd you'd see or hear real people do in real life. That's why its called "slice of life". Sometimes its boring, sometimes its entertaining. In this case, its a bit of both. Konata and her friends are usually doing things in their lives that you wouldn't really care to see them do. Like deciding which side of a chocolate cornet is the head and which side you should eat first, or deciding whether or not buying a cellphone is a good idea or not. Small elements like that could be overlooked if whole episodes weren't based upon them. Despite me loving this show to death, I will admit that I got bored with some things (the chocolate cornet debate for example). The anime is also a comedy, and I will admit that I found myself cracking up on almost every episode. Especially the episodes when Konata goes to the book store and the employees try so desperately to get her to but something, often going super saiyan, and after all that effort she still leaves the store empty-handed. I also like how characters you'll never see again, talk like a man rather they're a woman or not. IDK if the Japanese dub did this, but I found it funny in the English dub. I don't understand a lot of the shows pop-culture references since I'm not Japanese, but its was still nice seeing people be random. I also found the little "Lucky Channel" stuff at the end of each episode entertaining. But if you're not into shows that are just filled with randomness and don't really have a plot, like most American cartoons, then this probably isn't the show for you. 6/10

Characters:I liked all the characters in this show, and couldn't find a single one I disliked. Of course, its been awhile since I've watched the show, but I remember quite a few characters. I remember Konata of course. She's my favorite character, for a lot of reasons. #1, I'm not exaggerating if I say she's literally the anime version of me. We're both lazy, but smart, we both love anime/manga/video games, and we both get a little pervy every now and then. Only difference in personalities really is that she's a lot more athletic than me, but that's about it. #2, she was probably one of the more fun characters to see on screen. Don't want the main character to be boring, do we? secondary character is Konata's BFF, Kagami. She's kind of the voice of reason in Konata's group of friends. She's smart, responsible, and doesn't want to admit that she loves yaoi (its ok, Kagami. Its ok) next is Kagami's younger twin sister, Tsukasa. Tsukasa is kind of the shy one of the group, and she's the one who couldn't decide if she should buy a cellphone or not. She's very indecisive, and I liked her, but sometimes her indecisiveness got on my nerves. Last girl out of the 4 is Miyuki. She's the smartest and sweetest girl in the group, and the one the others usually turn to when they need help with something (she also has the biggest bust size, so...). The rest of the cast is: Konata's cousin (who I forgot the name of), Patricia (I don't remember her very well, except that I think a lot of people disliked her), an energetic brown-haired girl who I forgot the name of, a green-haired kuudere, a girl with black(brown?) hair who secretly wrote yuri fanfics/manga about all her friends, Konata's pervy father, the crazy teacher, Konata's OTHER cousin, and the Lucky channel characters who I forgot the names of, but the dude looks like Brock from Pokemon. Also other characters who don't really matter. 7/10

Art/Sound: I love Kyoto animation. They have some of the prettiest art I've ever seen in an animated series, and its beautiful, fluent, and brilliantly animated, even when used in a comedy like this, and nothing serious like Clannad or Air. The sound I also liked, especially the catchy opening "Motteke! Sailor Fuku" which will legit get stuck in your head, and you'd probably wanna sing along to it. I don't remember the ending song very well, but the OST I liked. Especially "Fun Fun Fun Dayo". Another silly, and catchy toon that'll probably get stuck in your head. I watched the whole series in English, and didn't go back to watch it in Japanese. I loved the dub (but if you know me, then you'll know I prefer dubs regardless of if they're bad or not, so this opinion is biased). I did see a few clips in Japanese, though, and they were good. Wendy Lee is a good voice actress, and she did a good job as Konata, though Aya Hirano pulled her "moe" side off a bit better in the original Japanese (like the "timotei" part). Cause let's face it, Japanese girls are just the cutest things ever. I have no complaints about art and sound so 9/10

Overall Enjoyment: I really, really liked this anime. I love comedy, and I have a soft side for slice-of-life so I gave it a try and loved it. I know a lot of people don't care for this show, because a lot of the stupid things drag on for too long *cough cough* chocolate cornet *cough*, and my overall verdict may be a bit "biased" since I loved this show so much despite its flaws, but I thought it was really good. Again, if you aren't into seeing the day to day lives of Japanese school girls being random, then this isn't the show for you.

But I give "Lucky Star" a: 9/10
