Even writing about this show makes me wanna vomit! Elfen lied is the worst thing in the history of ever, It's the only anime series I've given a 1/10.
Let's start off with the positive aspects about the show. Elfen lied has pretty intense and epic scenes that really give you the chills. The show really knows how to create tension in the plot. Another good thing I can say about eflin lied is how dynamic the character lucy is
I can honestly say that even though she was introduced as a serial killer, By learning her backstory, you actually start sympathizing with her. While I still think she's a scumfuck, you still can kinda see where she's coming from and why she feels the need to kill humans. This is about all the good I can say for this show...
First off let me just say that most of the main characters and BORING AS ROCKS!!! Seriously, these guys make the getbackers cast look good! The guys Im talking about are the other two main characters Kouta and Yuka Kouta is a generic, Mary sue, moron; other than his interesting relationship with Lucy I can't say anything good about him. Yuka is just a dumb bitch who's trying to get it with her own cousin Kouta, there is honestly NOT A SINGLE good thing I can say about her! And considering these guys have a good amount of screen time they make this shoe BORING!!! And these two arent the ONLY reason this show is boring, theirs another even worse character.... nyu
Nyu is Lucy's split personality counter part... and she is ATROCIOUS! She's literally just a moe pokemon! Almost all she ever says is the word "Nyu" making her exactly like a freaking pokemon! And lucy turns into nyu for about 50% of the damn show! Nyu has NO personality other than being a POKEMON!!! Nyu, combined with Kouta and yuka are the reason this show is FUCKING BORING HALF THE TIME!
The next part is personal bias. The purpose of a show is to entertain the audience so they will enjoy it, and considering I was bored half the time and I thought the other half of the show was just fucked up and depressing, I honestly found no enjoyment in this show. I can understand why some people would find enjoyment in the fucked up and depressing parts, but personally I just find it distasteful. Don't get me wrong, I love dark shows like hunter x hunter, Samurai X and death note. However, when a show is so depressing to the point where I myself FEEL depressed, it's distasteful.
I'm not attacking anyone who likes this show, and I can honestly kinda understand why some people like this show, honestly I think most of the reason I hate this show is because this kind of show just ain't "my cup of tea"
