Mirai Nikki is an anime that is above average but inconsistent in many areas and ways. Some aspects of the anime are very well executed and work well, while other are mind-boggling, making me wonder why they decided to write this story the way they did, which is also it's biggest downfall, the story. But some of the action and characters make up for the this and end up making it a pretty good anime. If you truly look into the story, you will be confused, so it's best if you turn your brain off and take this anime at face value. I was generous and gave it an 8/10, mainly because I really like Yuno, but this is more of a 7.3- 7.7 anime.

{Art} 6/10 - I'm starting with art because starting with story would be depressing lol. The art and animation in Mirai Nikki isn't amazing, but not terrible. It never really stands out at any point in the anime but it never takes away from it either. So it is fair or average.

{Sound} 10/10 - honestly the first opening is one of the best in anime. Fast paced rock that goes perfectly for this anime and gets you pumped for the episode. The other soundtracks are good as well but OP 1 takes the cake for me. Yuno's voice actor is incredible, Yuki's is pretty good too.
The rest are decent no voice actors take away from the experience.

{Characters} 7/10 Yuno (9/10) - One of the most iconic characters in anime. She will do anything for her love Yuki. She is a psycho, she is crazy, and makes the story interesting. She doesn't really develop much because she is all on the table from the beginning, she loves Yuki and will do anything for him.
Yuki (7.5/10) - A cliché character in the sense that he is a whiny protagonist that can't do anything, but he is diverse because of underlying personality. He likes Yuno, and slowly starts to love her, in which being around her has made him not as much of a puss. I like how he uses darts as weapons that is something new I have never seen before in an anime.

Minnine (7/10 - I mean she is cool. She also progresses the plot multiple times in which I can't go into details because of spoilers but yea.
The rest are not that important or just minor supporting characters. The cop guy is pretty generic.

{Enjoyment} (8/10) Like I said previously, if you look to deep into this anime, you will be disappointed, but enjoy the suspense and action and take it for face value and you will like it.

{Story} (4/10) Oh boy. I'm going to try to keep this short. The basic ideas for this anime are not very original, but tweaked on in its own way with the future diaries, which make the action and the combat interesting. Some of the moments in this anime happen just to progress the plot, and some of the character decisions don't make much sense sometimes, and the influences to make these decisions are not fully explained, and some of the questions raised throughout the anime are never fully answered. **BUT** the action and suspense accompanied by great sound and moderately interesting characters keep it from being a BAD anime, but the story holds it back and keeps it from being a GREAT anime. I am going to be very generous and give it an 8/10 because.....I don't know. Maybe it's because this was the first anime I ever saw (besides the forbidden 4), and it holds a special place for me.

Overall: Mirai Nikki is a decent anime. It holds a particular spot for me and that's why I gave it an 8/10 instead of something lower, which it probably deserves. But in conclusion, it is worth a watch but don't look too deep into the story. AND WATCH THE OVA IT SUMS UP THE STORY WAY MORE THAN THE ENDING IN THE LAST EPISODE. IT IS CRUTIAL. BECUASE THE REGULAR ENDING IS NOT GOOD. AT ALL. ALMOST MADE ME LOSE FAITH IN THE ENDING OF ANYTHING.

Overall: 8/10 (GENEROUS)
