Welcome to the NHK is a very peculiar series, however it is not stopped by its strangeness from captivating the viewer with its varying aspects and different levels of meaning.

The story follows Tatsuhiro Sato,an introvert of an extreme degree,a better word would be the one used in the series,'hikikomori',which basically means someone who abstains from a regular social life, his encounter and relationship with a girl known as Misaki, who promises to cure him of his 'illness',as well as how he proceeds to try to pick up the pieces of his life in numerous ways. The story is an experience to witness, and as mentioned by many people,is relatable for some. The characters in the series are as idiosyncratic as the series itself, but are very much engaged in the same weird grandeur that is contained in the series, and are just as depressing and humorous as the show itself. By the way, expect a lot of scenarios that can be interpreted as both emotional and comedic.

The most important aspect of the show is the varying levels of meaning it has. On the surface, something may seem very simple, but it may be on the other hand something very philosophical or complex. Not many Anime can claim that intricacy. None of this would matter if it was not executed well, and in this case it was executed more than properly.

Personally, the anime is almost perfect, and I will give it a 10. Although it is not perfect,it is wholly sublime in everything it tries to prove. Perhaps I am being too lenient with my rating, and it is very likely that I am biased. However, not seeing this Anime will be a huge disservice to yourself, whether you like it or not,it is something that is unique among the many types of Anime that you can see,and deserves to be seen by everyone who has an interest in Anime.
