Mixed Feelings
Pandora Hearts held a lot of promise with it's mysterious beginning and a very strong plot.

The plot is a 9/10 for its uniqueness and complexity. Pandora Hearts is a soft adaption of Alice in Wonderland with a huge twist. The complexity of it all is beautiful, and the overall tone of the story is unlike any other.

The music is a 10/10. The melody of the music box is beautiful, and the background music for each scene is very appropriate. There is something haunting about the music and it fits well with the beautiful plot.

The art is a 5/10. After reading the plot, you almost expect something as stunning as the artwork of Fate/Zero. However, the artwork is not great, and the action scenes have don't have very much that went into them.

Character Development is 1/10. Viewers are not lead to feel very strongly about any of the characters. The characters are shrouded in mystery until the very end of episode 25 and we don't fully understand their backstories. The only reason you care is due to the heavy mystery... which is not resolved in this anime. The dialogue is confusing and awful, and it is very forced.

Plot execution is a 2/10. For episodes 1-7, episodes 11-15 and episodes 21-22. The execution is beautiful. However, for the other episodes, there is forced comedy with a horrible attempt at character development. It creates a huge distance between the plot and characters. Not well executed at all.

The anime had a strong start, but it had huge ups and downs with a less than satisfying ending. The anime is not at all average due to the plot, however. It seems the producers of the anime did not take the time to make this anime as great as it could've been.
