Mixed Feelings
This review is mostly about my overall review of both seasons, without spoilers.

Owari no Seraph is a nice concept. Even though at first it looks like a simple shonen about fighting vampires it slowly develops into a more complicated plot around humans, vampires, demons and angels in a apocaliptic setting, in which no one is truly good nor evil.

But, this anime alongside the second season are not the best way to enjoy such story. And if you're a manga reader chances are you'll be rather dissapointed.

Story: 7/10
Even though not very original at first, with a virus that kills almost everyone and a stronger species that makes humans feel mediocre, Owari No Seraph does feel a bit different from your usual fighting anime. It probably is thanks to its military setting and the fact that it's inclined to sad and tragic situations.
Once the story starts developing the plot about the angels things get a lot more interesting but its beggining (without counting the shocking first episode) is really slow and can be boring.

Art: 6/10
Backgrounds are beautiful and character design is really nice. But the animation is not good. Once you reach final chapters movements are weird and faces badly drawn sometimes. They still make some scenes look nice, but it's obvious that Wit Studios didn't plan on making this a second Attack on Titan animation-wise.

Sound 10/10
The Opening and Ending music is stunning and the OST really amazing. Thanks to its composer Sawano Hiroyuki. Argueably one of the best things of this adaptation.
Voice acting was good and fitted each character personalities making each dramatic scene feel believable.
Sound is definitely the main reason I'm glad this anime exists.

Character: 7/10

While its true most of the character easily fit archetypes, if you don't look at them too critically they're rather likeable. Sometimes their motives are strange to understand and shallow but it could be attributed to the changes the adaptation did from the original source.
Each one has their motives and way of seeing things, but get prepared because if there is something they have in common is the usage of the word 'family' on amounts I've never seen before. If you don't get annoyed by it it'll probably feel heart-warming with the overall context of the story.

Enjoyment: 5/10
I'll start saying that I've read the manga, and I'm dissapointed on how things turned out to be in the anime. Specially the second season.
I sticked to it every week, but the times I can say I like something more in the anime than the manga can be count with less than three fingers.
Even though I know the plot, things feel really rushed, weird and sometimes even absurd.

Overall 6/10
The anime had so much more potencial that simply went to waste Don't expect too much from it.

My true sincere advice would be that before you decide your opinion of Owari no Seraph as a story, you should go read the manga. It's better on every argument aspect, character representation and art. And after you read it if you liked it, go back and watch the anime just as a complement.
