This story takes place in a game-like world, but it isn't like any other games or anime with game-like settings. I at first thought it would be like danmachi which focuses more on the character than the plot or setting. But man I was wrong.
It starts off normally, or even rather a little cliché at the beginning. But then I learned of the dark setting of their world, and I started viewing everything differently. At the end of volume 1 lots of secrets comes unraveled rather brilliantly, so you know that the author put some deep thought to it and didn't make it all fun and games.
The second volume starts right after the first (maybe a month after the first's incident). I didn't think there would be much progress in the second volume and the main characters would fight their enemies which has been described in the first volume. But BAM!!!......the plot line takes a dramatic turn and a very dark past gets slowly revealed throughout the story. The past is so dark and heartbreaking that if a book was written simply about the past, it would make a pretty damn good psychological and heartbreaking (also heartwarming) tragic story.

Volume 1 was awesome for me, because it takes a clichéd setting and puts a dark turn to it. But volume 2 was the BOMB!!. it takes everything to a different level. It reaches out to your heart and crushes it while healing it at the same time.
