I typically don't write reviews, but for an average plot-line and somewhat abrupt ending this anime is somewhat intriguing. Never having read the manga, nor being a religious expert, the idea was pretty interesting, yet unoriginal. I have to say though overall the art is stellar; you can tell it deteriorated at points, but generally it was fine. It's plot line might be sub-par, but it was still enticing. Every episode had me on the edge of my seat for the next one, and every episode had a good mix of comedy and serious content (Thought the filler episodes were a bit much.) I feel like some of the slow filler time could have been spent on the ending, but I guess without the filler the audience would have gotten less backstory on the side characters, and also the mandatory anime clichés.

The OP and ED are pretty catchy, and definitely fits the storyline, but I wouldn't call it amazing.

It should be noted that it's easy to get irritated with William Twinning, yet I suppose that's how he's supposed to be. The hilarious personalities of the demons made up for it though.

I'd recommend it because it's a light and quick anime. However, I would easily say that it doesn't need a second season;there is enough plotline to make a spinoff/sequel though. Those who might enjoy Devils and Realist probably enjoyed Kuroshitsuji, or other supernaturalesque or man and servant type animes.

(P.S. It is noted, that while I didn't read it, I guess for those who decide to read the manga first be prepared to get some adaption changes, because that's something a lot people were having meltdowns about.)

Also a sidenote, it should be known to prospective watchers there's also an excessive amount of cross dressers if that bothers you. You have been warned.
