I enjoyed the ruthless nature of the Vampires, and how they seemed to be so overwhelmingly more powerful than humans. I really wish they would have explored that route more. Instead, they used an anime loophole (humans find some weapons that can be possessed by demons to give them super powers) in order to level the playing field. I get it, these anime's have to play to a crowd of fanboys/girls, but us older fans enjoy some substance in our Anime. None of the characters were too enjoyable, they all fit into cliche anime profiles. One thing I did respect about the anime, is that it was not overtly ruthless. It mildly used bloody/gory scenes, which were often used to highlight desperate situations.
All in all, this Anime is simply a guilty pleasure. Its not very good, I will never watch season 2, and I will forget about it by this time next year. BUT, its only 12 episodes, and its not boring. The choice belongs to you.
