Yes, we're used to rewrites of the story, it was jarring at first but then you just roll with the punches and found it wasn't too bad, This is somethin' else.
Any of the previous Tenchi series occasionally skims on the ecchi side at some points were enjoyable and added to the comedy of the situations. Only, the first thing we see is an up skirt panty shot and an awkward landing. Which sets the tone for the rest of the series. That said, I gave up early on so I wouldn't know just how much it progressed. But the nudity just didn't make sense. It was just for the sake of it.
Boring.
And since they were all young girls it felt awkward.
I resent the redesigns. A refresher may have been in order but they feel too unlike their original design. But generally the artwork is fine.
And given I dropped it a few episodes in we did not see much of the original gang. But that was more or less a given, since most of the promo artwork barely features them.
Others might like it but it's not for me.
