Tokyo ghoul season 1 while a bit overrated, was still a fun show with redeeming qualities. The second season, Tokyo ghoul root A was great fun and while people hate it, I found more enjoyment in it then in the original slightly. Let's talk about the flaws first,1 the opening theme, seriously it's a nice tune but to be honest with you it would have been a better ending theme, though the added symbolism to the song is nice. The ending theme however was great and in my opinion would have worked better as an opening. The characters are alright,Kaneki still isn't anything great though he is slightly more interesting than he was in season 1. And lastly I felt that some characters who were good in season 1 just kind of fell off this season to put it simply. For example there was one character who was extremely important last season but now she's just gone for some reason. But with these flaws brung a slew of pros. One is the actual music that plays during the anime. It is lyrical but it sets a fantastic mood throughout the scenes. Second the action, now in my review of season 1 I said I would have liked more quality action scenes, and well.....I got them. The action scenes this season were excellent just fast paced absorbing action which were very entertaining. The animation was very good as well with everything looking smoothed and polished. And lastly I also enjoyed the story I found it to be very compelling like last season. In conclusion I enjoyed root A heavily and I am very excited to see what will unfold in season 3. Root A is a must watch if you liked and enjoyed season 1.
