Pupa (Anime) add (All reviews)
Oct 23, 2015
Let me start off by saying that I only watched this anime for the guro. I'm a fan of erotic gore, and that is what I got. I also began with very low expectations anyway, since I've heard about how bad this anime is, so this may be a more positive review.

Story: 1

Each episode was only 4 minutes, which was too short for a 12 episode anime that seems to be aiming to be serious and dark to develop a story. I have never read the manga, and I couldn't understand what was going on. I'm still wondering where and why that guy tortured the brother and . . . how did Maria (if it was her, anyway) get sperm and egg cells from the brother and sister! Why would she impregnate herself with the monsters. . . ? I did find the end episode to be quite adorable, though.

Art: 5

I enjoyed the overlay of the paint brushes, and I also really liked the look of the characters, even if some may argue most anime characters look like it. I cringed anytime the sister was eating. It just looked . . . really bad to my eyes.

Sound: 4

The opening theme, which was dark, artistic, and stylized, was one I never skipped. I adore it! I dislike the ED, however.

Character: 1

The characters don't develop; they stay the same, for the most part. The brother and sister's relationship just throws incest fanservice at you. A lot of characters are useless; we don't learn anything about them.

Enjoyment: 7

As aforementioned, I came to this anime expecting guro, and that's what I got. Blood, guts, torture, it's all there. Lots of screaming. While the plot content may have not been enjoyable, the mindless fanservice, of a very special kind, was entertaining.

Overall: 3

The story and characters don't even bother to stand up to fall short, but the guro and incestous undertones willl probably entertain at least someone. If that's your thing, check this anime out! If not, stay far away.
