The Story...
It revolves between spirits and a person who can see them, Natsume Takashi. Natsume Takashi inherits the power to see youkai from his passed away grandmother, Natsume Reiko. As his life moves on he encounter various youkai that need his help and sometimes become a threat to his life.
The main attraction would be the tranquility of the story. It contains a calm and peaceful pace that keeps the story attractive. Even though the concept is quite simple they made it interesting by putting some minor arcs though out the whole series, minor arcs that also something to do with the main arc.
The series also maintains the calmness on each episode even though they put drama and some puns to make it quite different, but in the end the calmness is still there as watchers will savor the meaning though out of it.
Art & Animation...
Beautiful, as it really contains as what you'll expect to this kind of genre. Scenery and backgrounds that gives a calm feeling, character design that is simple to fit to its surroundings, and animation that gives a big factor in making it as beautiful as possible, and also the one responsible for making it interesting to watch and gives emotions for every action on the show.
Sound…
OP and ED songs are great as it contains implication to its story. The voices of each characters are well delivered, the voices matches the attitudes of each characters which is kind of amusing. The background sounds/musics makes it even more charming thus it plays melodic, deep, calm, and soothing sounds and music for each theme of the story.
Character…
As for the main character of the story Natsume Takashi, he is a person with a warm-hearted towards youkai, a simple guy who lives in fear and been lonesome for quite a time. As time goes by he accepts being shun by human beings because of his special powers but even though he was treated like that he became friendly as possible to them. A good view about him is he possess kindness towards youkai and human beings that shows humility towards its purpose.
The advantage of the main character Natsume Takashi is he shows tranquility that greatly affects the outcome of the series but on the other hand it has disadvantage that might be the cause of the problem on the show, he is quite simple that has constant acts. Being simple is not that bad in a way that it will make a difference but in this series they didn't make some other scheme to improvise or make a difference on being repeated.
Madara is the other main character on the show that gives some amusement, he is a powerful youkai with some rude attitude, and also he become the guardian of Natsume Takashi for he will be protected towards some bad spirits. A good view about him is that he is too naughty in some ways that gives a grin in your face, always saying "stupid" whenever he have a chance to scold or make fun of Natsume.
As for the other characters, they fill up the series as intended to be part of it, they make a minor arc and appearance which also help maintain its calmness. Also being part of it helps the whole to revolve by making new friends and to explore the outside world that the main character doesn't encounter before.
Enjoyment…
It's kind of simple as it pertains simplicity in life, achieving that you haven't done before, courage to move forward, and being straightforward on every actions. With these kind of perspective you will enjoy it by its peaceful manner.

When you put all of these it will create a series that will surely hook you, but with these aspects it will surely be loved by those who wants an anime with peaceful appearance.
