- Tried way to hard to be deep and philosophical.
- Character interaction was very unconvincing.
- Animation is that of a cheaply thrown-together ecchi.
- The whole show just seemed like a gimmick.
- Only thing it really has going for it is the 'Lilium' song.
- Did nothing for me other than leave me feeling somewhat depressed.
Look. I'm already not the biggest anime fan (just look how sparse my list is). But I've given this show every chance I could. And I just can't give it higher than a 4. The show is obviously TRYING to be as depressing as possible. It thinks just being sad and gloomy somehow adds a level of beauty to something. But it DOESN'T! And I think that may be why so many people fell in love with this show. It was shocking so it MUST be good, right?
Thing is, even when it first came out I didn't much care for this. Yet people still insist that it is one of the greatest things ever.
