Root A- Absolutely laudable effort from the makers to actually have the guts to deviate from the "Manga" after all the hype that the first season created.
This review comes from a guy who hasn't read the "Manga" but has a fair knowledge of how it plays out.
As biased as it may sound I actually feel that the Anime chronology made much more sense than the manga and I really love the way that the makers had the balls to deviate from the "Manga" which is absolutely epic according to so many of it's loyal fans.
I leave judging the review upto you guys.

STORY- 8/10 Loved the plot right from the get-go, Episode 1 itself made such a huge impact and made much more sense to me than the manga. Although a little too rushed and with evident plot holes it was enough for me to be hooked and wanting.

SOUNDTRACK- 9/10 "Unravel" by TK was a pretty awesome opening and was always going be difficult to match, but 'Munō by Osterreich tends to grow on you the more you listen to it and makes a lot of sense lyrically[ most don't recognize it] The songs that play throughout the series perfectly depict the emotions on show.

CHARACTER- 8/10 This is probably something in which the manga trumps the anime by a long distance or so i've heard. Although I'm totally ineligible to debate whether that's true or not I would still say that Kaneki is not given adequate screen time and his character development all throughout the anime feels rushed and doesn't do justice to what he actually deserved, it could've been done in a much better fashion. Leaving that aside the other characters are portrayed extremely well in my opinion.

ART-9/10 Excellent Animation I must say. Although I still feel that censorship is extremely stupid to begin with. The kagune's looked great and the visuals never left me disappointed.

ENJOYMENT- 8/10 Never lacked on the enjoyment factor for me although the end of the series left me disappointed to an extent. Wont say much more about the end of the series and how and why it leaves you disappointed.

OVERALL- 8/10 Considering all the loopholes and flaws that Root A possessed it still manages to be good in its own way. Good but not great I must say, could've been great. "Modest" job done by Pierrot I must say in something that doesn't stay true to the manga.

CONCLUSION- A good watch for people who haven't read the manga and I suggest that for those who haven't watched it yet please watch the anime before you read the manga, watch it as something "original" in itself.
