Mixed Feelings
So Root A wasn't the best thing that ever came out of anime studios. For one of the most hyped anime of early 2015, a lot of anime viewers were sorely disappointed by the second season of Tokyo Ghoul.

STORY- 5/10
So the overall storyline is fairly interesting with some problems here and there (mainly why Kaneki would join the organization that kidnapped him a week ago), but looks decent if you read about it. But the execution of the plot was terrible, and in the first half (the original part), I was clueless to half the stuff going on. The ending was also a point of complaint among many viewers, which is part of the reason why Tokyo Ghoul :re has a lot of readers now.

ART- 8/10
Well Tokyo Ghoul had good fights but Root A lowered the quality a bit in some areas (since Kishou Arima clearly has a pointed chin). Kaneki looks freaking amazing, better than in the manga IMO, some of the fights were kinda crappy (like Kaneki vs Shachi) while others were fairly good (although one in particular was obscured with fog, which was kinda a bad thing). Not a huge point to complain here.

SOUND- 8/10
I really do believe Tokyo Ghoul's soundtrack, both seasons, are underrated. While Tokyo Ghoul's OST can't compare to Hiroyuki Sawano or Yuki Kajiura, it still has some outstanding tracks, and they really make you see the desperation of the ghouls as they are forced to fight for their survival.

CHARACTER- 7/10
Kaneki is a rather mixed character for me. On one hand, his development at the end of the first season was the biggest for a single episode of anime I've ever seen, but such a quick and dramatic change is met with some of his old behavior and we see why he joins Aogiri, but I still fail to understand why he just doesn't form a task force to shake Tokyo up (like he did in the manga). Other characters were decent, but Shachi from the first half really confused me as to why he acts like he does (I mean come on, why would you do what he did to a random guy?).

ENJOYMENT- 9/10
I love this part of the review since I can say whatever I want to say about the anime and no one can say a thing about it. Okay, I freaking loved watching this anime, even knowing its flaws. The beautiful soundtrack, the (semi) great animation, the intriguing premise of ghoul society and how they attempt to survive is really something worthy of praise. Sure there are plot gaps, but I liked this show so hahaha haters.

OVERALL- 6/10
Contradicting everything I just said in the Enjoyment category, Root A was not a good anime due to all of its plot holes and dip in animation and confusing characters. I would recommend watching it but take caution (and for f***s sake, stop hating on this show so much, if you want a bad show, watch Gundoh Musashi or Pupa).
