They simply continued to build the story. Little info is given about some of the actions that are taken in this season, but I think that this will all be revealed later. Many characters show up but are not explored, again im pretty sure they will be though.
The music and style of the anime slightly different, not drastically, just a bit. More silence, almost like mourning. It was good though. Characters are trying to discover themselves, trying to cope with some really nasty stuff. It was good. Close to the end, it got intense and good, like the first season. It ended really weird, but thats ok by me . . . for now. If thats the actual end I will be pissed. If not, then it will be a good place to pick back up. Constant intensity from this anime, I really like it.
