Talk about a flawless anime! I never thought I'd give every single aspect of an anime 10/10 but here it is! In my opinion, its the best anime of the Drama genre and as I said in my review of the 1st season of Clannad, both of the seasons combined form my all time favourite anime.. Now, on with the spoiler-free review of a beautiful tragedy!

STORY :
As I said earlier, truly flawless.. The story goes full throttle for the episodes 16-24.. Before that, it gives Youhei Sunohara (the comic relief of this anime and the protagonist's best friend) and his little sister Mei, a much deserved arc of their own which is pretty emotional.. There's also another arc which is not that memorable but a nice little addition.. After that, it focusses solely on the love life of the main protagonist, Tomoya Okazaki and his love interest, Nagisa Furukawa and their shift from high school to becoming part of the society..

ART :
Nothing has changed from the 1st season and I'm glad it hasn't..

SOUND :
Again, a beautiful soundtrack.. It just makes the tragic scenes so much more tragic! The OP is arguably better than the 1st season's but the ED fails in comparison to 1st season's "Dango Daikazoku".. Infact, "TORCH", is a joyful ending theme which we hear right after the tragic scenes making us question our own feelings! Truly horrible choice! But as a standalone song, its pretty good..

CHARACTERS :
I can't praise Tomoya enough! His character development is OVER 9000!! Nagisa's parents, Akio and Sanae, took center stage as well.. Let's be honest here, they're the most beautiful parents in the anime world.. And then there's Tomoya's alcoholic dad, and how he ended up doing something terrible for which Tomoya got pretty depressed in the 2nd half which ultimately led to something wonderful.. And let's not forget the newly introduced character in the 2nd half.. SO CUTE!!

ENJOYMENT :
I can watch it again and again, even after those tragedies, because it has become a part of my life.. Every single aspect of this anime is top-notch!

OVERALL :
I recommend this work of art to any self-professed anime fan.. The second half is quite frankly, God's gift to anime.. Watch and cry for yourself.. Highly recommended..
