The main aspect of this anime (imo) is awareness regarding psychological issues and mental health in today’s society, specifically in Japan, where it's not only rampant but carries stigma as well. Satou, the main protagonist is a college dropout and unemployed, barely surviving on his parents' monthly allowance. His condition as a hikikomori is the main theme of the anime; a person who avoids social contact. While the anime focuses on keeping the show entertaining with funny dialogues, they also focus the dark side of being an otaku/hikikomori/NEET: depression, suicide, social anxiety, etc. The plot follows if Sato is able to come out from his hikikomori condition and how he achieves it. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to watch something entertaining whilst also gaining insight from every character’s experience.
