There is basically no story which makes this anime, well, should I say different. It really depends on the person. Since I was a little kid I always loved those "Slice of Life" shows. The "story" is basically the life of Konata Izumi (the main charcter on my opinion) and her three friends: Miyuki, Kagami and Tsukasa.
The girls get on with their ordinary every-day lives, sometimes experiencing new things and having fun.
As for the art, the characters do not really have much detail, which is different, but does not mae a bad impression. The backgrounds are fairly smple too. As for the characters, maybe if the look it self isn't so sofisticated, the personalities are very different.
The characters all have their own things, that are great about them. I wouldn't likke to tell you what they are but, Konata would have a good impression on any young beginner otaku. While Miyuki and Kagami will have a good impression on the clever kind, Tsukasa finally is the lazy one, funny and clumsy. All the supporting characters also have their own twist, which definately have been put effort into.
I enjoyed this anime very much and I plan on rewatching it soon. No matter how many times you rewatch an episode of Lucky Star, you will never get bored of it.
The sound is great, the background mudic is not always noticeable, but when you listen into it it really shows the mood of the scene. As for me, I watched the dub, and I should say the voices were fairly good.
Overall I would rate Lucky Star 9/10. The two points that were taken away, are really because of the ending. It was fairly ruined, but you'll see why when you watch it. The ending songs weren't that good either. But overall I'd call it a pretty good anime. I would be really happy ifthey made another season.
