Mixed Feelings
I think this is actually one of the worst endings to an anime that I've ever seen. I haven't read the Manga yet, so am hoping it's wayy better than this. Like seriously, nothing was concluded at the end, the story was going soo great in season 1.

Ken went all the way to the dark side to gain power, but to what end...?? He wasn't even able to protect anyone at the end of the day. He distanced himself and made himself the bad guy...but all for what?? He wasn't able to protect the old man, he wasn't even able to protect his best friend Hide. So what was the whole point of him running away and hurting everyone, all in the name of seeking power to "protect them". Most of his friends from the Caffe died, his best friend died, the old man died, the caffe which was finally a home for him was lost... So tell me now, how did all the power he wanted to get to "protect them" help?? The authors just went ahead and made him the worst main character ever. He lost everything and his actions were just a stupid waste. And another things was that he always talked about showing the world that humans and ghouls could co-exist, so I was expecting him to do something amazing. Maybe open the eyes of the police and others and let them see that even ghouls had as much right to live...maybe try to make both sides understand each other more.. But in the end he didn't do anything. He became the bad guy...abandoned those that cared for him, wasted what time they would have all had...damn it! He is truly truly the worst "hero" I have ever seen till now...he would have had the potential to be the best best, but I guess the author decided to throw that out the window, and made him look like a dummy who lost everything, and who could do or change anything...too bad...

This anime should be called a tragedy instead, they should add tragedy as part of the genre when describing the anime. Plus, there were just too many loose ends, and too many unfinished business..even the real Owl got away without us knowing the it's objective or it's identity. And why was everyone soo obsessed with Rize??! The story fwas just too incomplete, with characters popping out of nowhere, like who da f*** is Arima??! where did he come from?? How is he the strongest?? Why did the owl run away from him?? The anime had soo much potential, I actually expected much much more from the anime and from the characters.

P.S. This is me just venting
