Rebellion is basically all I could have wanted from a movie-sequel. It still carries the unique style and dark atmosphere of the original but amped up and imbued with it's own energy. All around it's actually a bit more optimistic than the original... only a bit though, it's still Madoka after all, and if you're like me, you'll enjoy that aspect.

Every scene hits it's intended marks. The fight scenes are exhilarating and full of energy and fluid movement. The cute moments are sweet and full of emotion. The sad scenes carry weight and dread. The mystery that envelops the scenario will drag you in and have you guessing until the very end. It's fantastic.

The interesting art style of the original returns in full force. The budget was likely freakin' huge and it shows. Animation is fluid and well done.

My one and possibly only gripe could perhaps be the twist at the end, which was predictable in it's existence (Come on now, it's Madoka, surely something was bound to happen if things got too happy), but a little unpredictable in it's actual execution. I expected something, but not necessarily what ended up happening, if that makes any sense. That is a small complaint though, and barely takes away from the end result.
All around, just a great movie to sit down and experiance.
