I finally watched this movie after having owned it for years. I had no idea what to expect. The opening music is delightful and the artwork is impressive. From the start the story takes on a very intimate feel. The setting is very cozy without much noise to distract you. That is because the focus of the story is on a much smaller world.

The story is simple with only a few central characters. The story is also quite slow and takes time to develop. This does not leave much time to show you much of the Borrower's world. I feel that's the biggest weakness of this movie. I felt it was just beginning right as it was ending. Almost like you are slowly driving by and catch but a glimpse into this beautiful world.

Like I said though, this movie was charming. It's a pleasant distraction for a rainy day. I just wish there was more.
