The first series wasn't bad, overall. But this? There is plainly a huge story here which the producers pushed in front of the "let's wrap this thing up" train, leaving Tokyo Ghoul √A a quivering, dying mass of mangled characters and plot. Some characters become complete anti-charismatic inversions of themselves, while others remain stupidly written in stone in spite of having multiple extra-strength character development hormone injections. Plot arcs unfold, never to be seen again after their introductory episode. A new key character is introduced in awed, hushed voices, and appears all of twice: once to establish his bad-assedness, and once more to contribute to the utterly meaningless off-screen ending of this series and any potential sequels. Actually, several new key characters receive this treatment.

To sum it up: There is no explanation. There is no closure. There is no development. There is no PLOT. The producers needn't have bothered with this hot garbage, and the same goes for you.
