Elfen Lied is a anime that does a very audacious thing by having so much cruelty, gore and nudity in one series, but the end result is a masterpiece anime that wouldn't have been good without. The anime contains events ranging from a man watching his naked daughter to a dog being bludgeoned to death with a vase and live dismemberment takes place.So be prepared and willing to attend a marvel of Elfen Lied however have to see this sort of thing.
But nonetheless Elfen Lied is no doubt an excellent anime, very good art, exceptional opening, remarkable characters, a very good story, but the defects of this anime are very easy to understand and I will point them now:
-Ecchi exaggerated
-human blood exaggerated
-When the characters die and you get to the inside of their body, you realize you have not any whim and bones in their bodies, it is totally wrong done that part
-A history with 13 episodes ends up being short and leaves some things missing explanation (I will not mention here so that is not too large)
unfortunately The series is only 13 episodes long, and in that short time quite a lot happens, which may make it seem rushed at times; it does move forward at a too high pace. The end result however, is good, tragic and gory experience.
Despite all this it is definitely a masterpiece and surely I highly recommend this for people who like anime and care for a good story, a soundtrack that despite being repetitive is very good and fits the context and a a good Romance.
