Ah. Pupa, the 4-minutes long anime, wich 2 minutes are used for the OP and ED... I was so hyped for this anime, since a friend recommended it to me 2 months before the first episode was released, the story looked interesting and i was looking foward to it.
When i watched the first episode, i felt really confused, and i knew that this series was going to be so bad, i dropped this anime for like 6 months and then started watching it again for the sake of this review, so yhea...
STORY: The story was really bad, Yume and Utsusu, two bullied siblings that got infected from a virus named "Pupa", and now Yume needs to eat humans in order to satisfy herself.
But then it goes everywhere, from a girl that wants to do experiments with them, to another organization that wants to use their powers to "upgrade" mankind, and a simply thief that wants to kill them, Oh! and a simple episode dedicated to Yume eating her own brother while saying "Onii-chan", that's it, Tata!
CHARACTERS: These things are all messed up:
Yume; She is the only character that turns into a monster, and therefore she needs to eat humans to fill her hunger, and then all she does is eat her brother's insides, all the rest of the series, ugh.
Utsusu; This is probably the lamest brother i have ever seen, instead of finding a cure, he decides to transform his own body into the daily lunch of his dear little sister, so she can't eat anyone else, lame and poor writing...
The rest of the cast dies between 3 seconds after it's appearance, there is a mad girl called Maria (i think) that uses the sperms of Utsusu and the ovule of Yume (Don't know how did she get them) to get pregnant, so she can give birth to a demon, well too bad because it's the last time we see her.
And the mother, that tried to kill Yume when she was a baby because we learn that she was already infected, and the father is just a bad father.
--So yhea, the show is all about Yume eating her brother's flesh.
SOUND: Simple music made with simple instruments, the music repeats itself in every episode, i only heard like 6 differents songs through the series, and the sound effects are nothing special, they even used the sound effect from Sunrise intro, lol
*OVERALL: Pupa is a terrorific series, just don't watch this anime if you don't want to get disappointed, or you can just simply watch it to laugh because how poorly is made, and after completing it and realizing that you could have spent all that time to make yourself a sandwich.
