so from the summery you know what the show is about and as a result you don't need me to explain on that further however before we go on I'd just like to say one thing, I did enjoy this anime.
I enjoyed it's characters, it's story and i like darker anime and I'm not saying this one is too dark, however when it comes down to it at times I felt that it was just being dark for the sake of being dark with it's [Minor character spoiler] and [Minor character spoiler]. but not just that the show gets to the end and just sort of ends in a very unfulfilling way it feels like it builds up to something great then just sort of. . . ends with many of the subplots that go nowhere also I'd like to point out that some say the plot turns into some harem anime storyline but since I don't watch harem I can't comment on that ether way.
Even so characters are enjoyable to an extent even if they do start to get annoying after a bit, music is fantastic i don't think I've seen the story before but I could be wrong , admittedly with a twist or two even I saw coming but all in all, a fun little romp through minor gore, and rather unpleasant back stories and as I've said the show just sort of ends
still if you like darker anime i highly recommend Elfen Lied, if you are just getting into darker ones or are easily offended by themes of: incest, child rape, animal murder ect. then i recommend you stay away and not touch this with a 10ft barge pole.
