So what stood out? Well, the ending for one. It's violent and climactic and doesn't leave any loose ends. Another is the animation which is very unique especially the charter's eye's. Eyes in this world are not a white outer ring followed by a colored inner ring and a black circle. Each character has their own unique eyes. The main character has a black outer circle with a white center. Another character has house looking shape in the center of her eye. Another has these big yellow eyes with a black crescent on the bottom of them. You get a lot of time to look at these eyes because much of this anime is dialogue (perhaps as to be expected of a light novel). The dialogue is charming and fits in nicely with the light tone and dry humor. This is side by side with lots of death and character's who ask to be killed. It is very interesting how this somehow manages not to kill the light tone even at the very end. A final thing that stands out is character development. The main characters grow closer over time and the male protagonist goes from more or less dead panning everything to developing emotions and a strong attachment to others. In sum, this anime is fun to watch and very entertaining. It's not mind blowing, it's not an anime that demands to binged watched, but it is an anime with a focused story, interesting characters, and a great sense of humor.
