This is another one of those trending manga that becomes incredibly popular.
Is Nisekoi worthy of its insane popularity?
In my opinion, no.
Story- 5
It's typical and/or generic. The main character, Raku, made a promise with his childhood sweetheart to, presumably, get married.
She gave him a locket while she took the key that will open said locket. It's simple and somewhat boring. What i hate about this manga is that it's listed as a romance, but it's a harem. The "romance" never goes anywhere, and when it SEEMED like it might have gotten an ending, it crashed and burned.
Art-9
This is the one aspect of the manga that is outstanding. The characters are pretty well-designed, with the main character having something of a typical shounen-like design. The effects are amazing, and the girls are well designed.
Characters- 4
Probably the weakest aspect of this show.
The girls are made to look pretty. Besides the "fake girlfriend", and one other, i feel like the other girls, albeit the fact that they "look good", are just... there. They're usually used for filler arcs, and hardly contribute to the main story- Raku finding his long-lost sweetheart.
Enjoyment- 5
I'll admit, I enjoyed this show, and I can see why others enjoyed it so much.
Overall- 6
One word: overrated. But, it's still worth a read.
6 is considered a "fair" score, so I think it's a fitting overall score.
