This anime is actually the first one I ever watched. It was back in high school, and my best friend convinced me to watch all of the episodes with her in one night, a habit I later developed after realizing how great of a series it is. Elfen Lied is known for its gore and nudity, but I loved it for the story and the characters. I've rewatched it many times, and I'm sure I'll watch it more in the future. I recommend it to anyone who isn't bothered by gore and such in anime, and is interested in something funny and addictive.
