This show is dark and may very well disturb you. Mirai Nikki isn't afraid to show taboo scenes and extreme violence. Now with that being said if you want a dark psychological thrill ride then this is the show for you.

The basic story is we follow Yukiteru "Yuki" Amano a young man who prefers to observe and write in the diary in phone. One day his "Imaginary Friend" Deus Ex Machina says he has upgraded Yuki's phone. Yuki then sees his phone has posts that come from the future he uses this until his phone changes and states DEAD END. He soon notices that his classmate Yuno Gasai is following him and she informs him someone is trying to kill him. She knows this because they are in a survival game with 10 others to decide who will become god. Yuno's diary luckily tells them what happens to Yuki. Despite all his fear Yuki decides to trust Yuno and deal with the survival game.

In my opinion the strongest element is the female lead Yuno Gasai. Despite being obsessed with Yuki she still stand out as a strong female lead. Many time in the story she tell Yuki not to fight just because she knows she can handle it. Also the performance by Brina Palencia in the dub was one of my favorite dub performances ever.

Overall i know many people will despise this show. Saying that its trashy mean spirited and is trying to hard to be a Mind-Fuck. These reasons maybe why i enjoyed the show so much but i do have to say this is my favorite anime ever not the best by a long shot but i enjoyed this show more and any other. So if the violence and the disturbing imagery doesn't turn you off enjoy Mirai Nikki A.K.A. The Future Diary because i sure did
