" I may have no normal friends, but I do have a best friend.

I have one irreplaceable best friend—

—Reina Kamisu."

Who is Reina Kamisu? A question that haunted us through the whole story. We seem to get in answer in the end of Volume one - but is that really all there is to it?

Note: I only read Volume 1 and Chapter 1 of Volume 2. Review will be updated when the series is fully translated.

The story is well plotted, very mysterious and interesting and somehow everything is stringed together. Throughout volume one we get 5 different stories with 5 different POVs. First of all we got Fumi Saito, a lonely girl who only has one friend - Reina Kamisu. The second story is about Atsushi Kogure, a boy whose family got killed by a girl - named Reina Kamisu. Then we got Shizuka Wakui, a girl which wants to get over an incident which occured to her. The person who helps her is - Reina Kamisu. The 4th story is about Kazuaki Toyoshina who seeks for a reason of the death of his girlfriend, when he meets a girl which resembles her - Reina Kamisu. The epilogue is about a girl in love with - Reina Kamisu? They all one thing in common - the mysterious being of Kamisu Reina. The plot twists are really nicely done and when you think you know what's going on, everything flips around and suddenly it's different from what you thought.

The characters are really unique. Every one of them is important for the story, even the side-characters all have a purpose.
Kamisu Reina is our beautiful mysterious Main Character (like Maria Otonashi [HakoMari]), but unlike HakoMari, we don't have a male counterpart. Instead, the second Main Character changes from Chapter to Chapter.

The writing style of Eiji Mikage is truly mindblowing. You never can be entirely sure of the truth of the words written in the novel. It cleverly tricks the reader into believing something false.

I had my hopes high after reading HakoMari and Eiji Mikage didn't fail to impress me again. The Kamisu Reina Series is definetely a very good mystery novel worth reading. I can't wait to read volume 2!
