From the standpoint of someone completely new to the series, this may be an interesting anime that makes you wonder what's going on and what's going to happen next, as well as interesting experience to meet all the characters.

However, from the standpoint of someone that was already into Kagerou Project well before this anime aired, this anime is horrible and a waste of time. The writing is poor, extremelly poor. The author ignores issues like the depression of some characters, and then fixes it without considering how the characters should truly feel or react. There's no solid characterization, characters like Shuuya Kano are just there to do what's convenient for the writer to move the story. The story starts with a really slow pace, and then rushes into a half-baked plot for the last episodes.

Let's be more specific. The main point of the story is time repeating itself trapping these kids on August 14th. The kids all die, forcing one of them to reset the timeline and fix everything all over again. From the standpoint of having seen other routes and timelines. There was no actual relevant actions or plot that broke this cycle. Simply put, they defeat the main bad guy with the power of friendship and then the writer pulls a deux ex-machina to say the story is resolved.

For example out protagonist, Kisaragi Shintaro, is supposed to be a boy that lived in isolation for two years, with depression, who even killed himself at some point because of this. This was barely touched in the anime at all. There's a lot more depth to the characters but we didn't get to see much. The female characters are reduced to not doing much, or just being out of the loop to what's going on.

The best word to describe this anime as a whole is, dissapointing.
