Going into this movie, I had really really [x 100 ] high expectations. Madoka Magica was a amazing deconstruction of the magical girl genre.

And yes, I love every bit of the movie, including the ending. Call me an obsessive fangirl, but it's my opinion and I love this series.

One thing you'll notice whilst watching is that the animation budget has gone up. A lot. Compared to the original series, everything is a lot crisper and cleaner. The lines and colors and the motion. The witch barriers are very impressive [this may just be me, as I was already a huge fan of Gekidan Inu Curry, the people behind that part of the animation.]
A little warning to people who didn't like the witch barriers: There is a considerably bigger amount of screen time they get.

Music, as always when it comes to Yuki Kajura, is amazing. As I write this, I'm listening to the OST online. It's that freaking good.

I won't go into the 'controversial' ending, but I will say that I really wish people would stop whining about it all over the internet. It's an unpredictable ending and it's explained a little.

If you are already a fan of the series, and have not seen it yet, GO WATCH IT.
RIGHT NOW.

And if you haven't seen the series, then go watch it as this really does deserve more love.
