In the beginning, I had believed the artwork to be crap. But after some time I had a change of heart, I come to realize it was just something I wasn't familiar with and this is exactly what the creator had in mind; a sort of Romanesque approach, it was nicely done. What won me over eere the plethora of action sequences that were produced with great detail. The gore in this particular anime had me mesmerized.. the amputation, decapitation, and the all around mutilation scenes were brilliantly done, I couldn't turn away from the screen for a second even if I wanted too. The storyline was bent on revenge from the jump, nothing too uncommon, it could've used a little tweaking in that department, needed more of an elaborate plot. If it were up to me the protagonist would have been Teresa and have the storyline revolve around her instead of Clair her protege, it would have made for a better show since she was a bad ass and whatnot but her 15 minutes of fame were brief but sweet nonetheless. I would even say the flashback episodes of her story that was covered under 4 episodes were better than the entire anime itself but thats just.my opinion. One thing I didnt like was Clair's companinion, if you want to debate about who is the most useless character in an anime he would most likely be a nomineee. But all in all, this anime was nothing short of epic, the creatures and yoki powers were awesome!
