Ok, this is my first time doing a anime review for serious, so.i hope you aren't expecting for it to be great..
Mawaru Penguimdrum is one of my favorite anime, mostly because of it's great story and magnifc art(magnif is a strangesounding word..).
Story(9/10)
In the beginning Penguimdrum may seems like a childish anime but as you keep watching the show you'll see that childish is the last thing you should call the anime.
The story is very complicated and sometimes you'll find yourself questionining if your eyes lied to you or if you really saw that creepy/funny/nonsense/strange/beautiful scene, what I'm trying to say is that it will probably amaze you and leave you confused at the same time.
The rhythm of the story is a little bit slow in the beginning but as it keep advancing it will become faster and plus there are some really good plot twists.
So, if the story is so good why a 9 instead of a 10? Well, even if the story is great some of the things will just happen even before they explain what's happening at the moment, actually, this can be both good or bad but sometimes it may get you upset(it didn't happened tp me but you never know)

Before i start talking about how gorgeous the anime art i think I think I should aware you that i may be a little either too exigent or it's opposite when we are talking about the art of a anime.
The art of Penguimdrum is extremely metaphoric(did i write ot right) and suits perfectly the mysterious atmosphere of the anime, sometimes it may remember you from shaft art style but even it is one of the most original art that i've ever saw in a anime.
The colour pallet is very colorful but the colors are not so vivid, is this bad? Since it suits the art style and the anime style i think it is something good.

The soundtrack really is great and pretty variable, there are sad music that will make you cry(even if i haven't XD ) and happy animated music that will cheer you.
When you end the anime you should search for the ost, you'll probably enjoy hearing it again.
The sound effects and voice acting are good like in most of the anime you probably already saw, nothing great, nothing bad.

There are three main characters in the beginning: Shoma, Kanba and Himari, they both have different personalities and appearances, and for each of them we have one penguin, and not so far we are presented to Ringo.
First of all I have to talk about the penguins, they are funny and are always providing support to the comic scenes of the anime, they are the main reason of why this is so funny.
The cast of the anime is not so big but even if the story of the characters is told I just couldn't care about some of they.
All of the characters are very different, some of they are all so charismatic but some just don't matter(even if they have a important role)

As I said the anime may be a little bit slow at the beginning but if you have enough patience it will become relly good, and plus the art and amazing soundtrack will have sure of you don't getting bored.

Mawaru Penguimdrum is a anime for people who like thinking and complicated stories, if you are used to psychological seinen and already love them you should jump in Penguimdrum right now, if you think hard stories are stupid go seek something else.
