Mixed Feelings
Kuroko no Basket is a tough one for me.

It's the first sports anime i have ever watched. I had always avoided sport anime because I felt they were too unrealistic.

I'd heard a lot about it and finally decided to try something new. After finishing the first season I felt that it was ok but not the amazing show many people made it out to be.

Story: the story overall I gave a 5. It's pretty much about some guy named Taiga Kagami trying to beat "the generation of miracles". In this aspect it played out like an unoriginal shonen anime. This was totally fine as i wan't necessarily expecting the most well written story coming into it.

Art: The art was really good. I gave it an 8. The animation for various players as they moved around the court was pretty good and added a lot of excitement to the action.

Sound: I gave it a 7. Not much to say. I found the music enjoyable.

Characters: This was the shows weakest point. Giving it a 3 was probably a bit nice. It would have gotten worse if it weren't for the personality of Kuroko. The characters are all so bland. Theres little to no back story given beyond "this person used to play with the generation of miracles" or "this person grew up in America". Kagami was your typical headstrong main character who wants to be the best. The worst part about the characters overall was their lack of basketball skills in general. THE MAIN CHARACTER SUCKS AT BASKETBALL! And no it's not like one of those "oh i'll improve and become the best" Kuroko just sucks...but that's the point. It was so stupid. Why make him the main character if he's going to do nothing but pass. He literally doesn't even dribble the ball. Not once. He just does tap passes. It's painful to watch.

Enjoyment: 6. It's your typical shonen anime with a basketball twist. If you like shonen you'll like it. If not stay away. Nothing else to say.

Overall: it was fair. Not good but not bad. Thankfully it wasnt so mediocre it didnt stand out at all. It's watchable. Definitely way over-hyped though. If you like basketball, shonen anime, and have some time to kill this is your show. Turn it on while doing homework or surfing the internet. It's got 51 total episodes to give you plenty of background noise while working on other things.
