Honestly, its a fun show but this has to be the biggest escapism BS I have ever seen. If I was the author of this LN I would be hanging my head in shame that something so bad became so popular. The biggest problem with that is that this garbage is something I can see myself writing.
Sure I would love to make up a world where I am a unapologetic gamer who gets stuck in this own element, because well... the real world is kind of boring. In a world where being amazing at gaming makes every girl you meet fall hopelessly in love with you. And well... since you're amazing at leveling up skills you end up being able to date and eventually marry the most popular girl in high sch-- oh I mean in the gaming world. Plus the tall handsome guy who hangs out by her and even 'near' her house ends up being a murderous psychopath who you kill for the popular girl. Dont forget! if someone is stronger than you... well he must be cheating!
Gosh... there is so much ridiculousness is in this series. I can totally see why the reviews on this show is so divided. I watch anime because pretty much because it's a nice little escape. The problem here is that its not hidden enough, I can see clearly through the intentions of even the most banal plot point. I am kind of old but I sincerely hope a younger version of me would never like this... because well if he did I could never live with myself.
