The perfect romance anime. Lovely Complex gets into the difficulties of finding love when people consider you "abnormal". Certain requirements are established by both men and women for a mate. When these requirements aren't met, then you can be readily discarded. Being fat or short or overly tall or poor or not that attractive are all too often the abnormalities that make people reject potential mates. It's an uncontrollable evolutionary response. What happens when two "abnormals" fall in love? Lovely Complex happens.
