Rurouni Kenshin is one of those shows that you keep with you forever. I watched it a very very long time ago, and clearly remember the premise for the storyline. I also remember the characters because of just how well developed and unique they were. Although the show is older, it holds its own among the modern greats. The emotions that surface while watching this show are 10-fold. It makes you happy, sad, angry, worried, etc. every step of the way. By the end of it all, you are left yearning to go back and relive it. The nostalgia really holds tightly.
